Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between energy work and Reiki?

Energy work is a broad name for practices that tend the energetic and symbolic layers of an experience. Sarah may draw from crystals, sound, color, music, elemental symbolism, lunar timing, herbs, or ritual. Reiki is a specific Japanese energy practice that uses attunement, symbols, and intentional hand placements or distance practice to support rest and energetic balance.

I have never received energy work or Reiki. What should I expect?

You do not need prior knowledge. Sessions are gentle and beginner-friendly. You will be invited to rest, breathe, and receive in the way that feels accessible to you. People may notice relaxation, emotion, warmth, images, thoughts, or very little at all. Every response is welcome, and no particular sensation or outcome is required.

What is the difference between remote and in-person rituals?

Both are personalized, collaborative, and intuitively guided. In person, Sarah works in shared physical space with consent-led touch or hands hovering, along with sensory or elemental tools when appropriate. Remote rituals let you receive from your own space and may include a call or message, synchronized ritual time, and written integration afterward. Choose the format that best supports your comfort and capacity.

Who can book an in-person ritual?

Sarah’s in-person practice is currently dedicated to people who identify as women and is LGBTQ+ friendly and affirming. People of any gender are warmly invited to choose Remote Reiki, which receives the same depth of personalized intention, energetic care, and follow-up from wherever you are.

I am not sure what I need. Is that okay?

Absolutely. You can arrive with a clear intention, a feeling, a question, or simply the sense that something wants care. You and Sarah can shape a starting point together without pressure or a need to have everything explained.

How does Sarah work with intuitive impressions?

Sarah shares intuitive pulls and energetic observations as invitations for reflection, not fixed truths or instructions. You are encouraged to notice what resonates, question what does not, and trust the understanding that grows through your own observation and lived experience.

How should I prepare?

There is nothing elaborate to perform. Wear or bring what helps you feel comfortable, have water nearby, and allow a little unhurried time afterward when possible. For remote work, a quiet place, blanket, dim light, or shared music can help you settle, but none of these are required.

Does energy work or Reiki replace professional healthcare?

No. Sarah offers complementary spiritual and wellness support. Reiki and ritual do not diagnose, treat, or replace medical, mental-health, or veterinary care. Please continue working with the licensed professionals appropriate to your needs.

What are chakras?

Chakra is a Sanskrit word often translated as wheel. Chakra traditions describe centers through which life-force energy is understood to move and be processed. Sarah primarily works with the widely recognized seven-chakra system as an accessible framework for noticing physical, emotional, psychological, and spiritual themes, while honoring that chakra teachings come from diverse South Asian traditions and are not limited to seven centers.

How is chakra pronounced?

The Sanskrit-rooted pronunciation is often rendered as “chuh-kra.” “Shah-kra” is also common in Western usage. Sarah uses “chuh-kra” while recognizing that both pronunciations are widely understood.

What is life-force energy?

Many spiritual and energetic traditions use terms such as prana, vital energy, spirit energy, or life-force energy for the animating current understood to move through living beings. Sarah works with this idea as a spiritual and experiential framework, not as a medical diagnosis.

What is the auric field?

Within Sarah’s practice, the auric field is understood as a layered energetic field surrounding the body and interacting with the chakra system. Ritual work may include attention to these layers as a way of supporting grounding, release, boundaries, and reconnection.

What can contribute to chakra imbalance?

Chakra traditions describe many influences on energetic flow, including sustained stress, disconnection, major change, difficult experiences, and limited opportunities for rest or expression. Sarah approaches these patterns gently and without treating them as a diagnosis or a personal failure.

Why begin with the Root Chakra?

The Root Chakra represents foundation, safety, belonging, and grounded presence. Sarah often begins there because steadiness can make exploration of the other chakras feel more supported and less overwhelming. The goal is not perfect balance; it is a reliable place to return.

Is every Green Bottle price the same service?

Yes. The price changes; the ritual and level of care do not. No proof or explanation is required.

How does travel pricing work for Home & Hearth?

For Home & Hearth rituals, travel within 10 miles has no additional charge. Mileage charges begin at 15 miles. Distance is measured one way from Sarah’s Sandy Mush service base, and the applicable fee covers the complete round trip and travel time.
